Allison Richards, RMT
Allison Richards is a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) who has held an interest and commitment to health and wellness for most of her life. While still in high school
she completed the Fitness Instructors course at the local YMCA in Cobourg. After graduating from the University of Western Ontario with a B.A. in Kinesiology in the year
2000, she spent some time doing Exercise Rehabilitation work with Motor Vehicle Accident patients as well as some Personal Training, and then fortuitously found herself managing disability claims at Manulife Financial for almost the next 15 years.
Once realizing she really did not belong behind a desk, Allison decided to return to school and graduated from The Sutherland-Chan school of massage therapy in 2018. Allison’s training and education is in Swedish Massage. She comes to The Port Hope Sports and Rehabilitation Centre after spending time providing massage therapy in both spa and multidisciplinary clinical settings.
Given her knowledge and experience, Allison’s treatment style has evolved to include a very empathetic client centered approach; employing comprehensive treatment programs, innovative self-care recommendations and providing easy to understand client education. Her goal is to ensure she meets the unique needs, challenges and goals of her patients.
Allison employs a dynamic range of therapeutic modalities, to provide both relaxation and comfort, while targeting deeper layers of tissue and contributing to the relief of pain and discomfort.
